Dear BC Residents, When purchasing an new TV or other electronics items, you will find that a recycling fee up close to 50 dollars per item is charged on you by a so called e-waste stewardship program, just like a tax which may be even higher than GST and it could be added up to many hundreds of dollars at the end of the year for your family. You may also find that even you paid all those fees when you want to recycle your old TV or other electronics, nobody there except us recycle for you, and even worse when some of your used electronics are selectively accepted by a few of their show case locations, those used electronics will be send to a BC local incinerator to burn and become heavy metals, dioxin and many other toxic substances getting back to you in the air. This message concerns you if you purchase or will purchase any new electronics , used one or have some used one want to get rid of, ERSPBC under the camouflage of environment protection is cheating money from you. When all of us struggle to make the ends meet each month in this bad economic time, they are enjoying over 1000 million dollars under this so called e-waste recycling program. You should know that this "e-waste stewardship program" charging you on new purchase in the name of recycle used electronics actually is a total money game; they are not doing any recycling and have nothing to do with environment protection. The result is we have to pay to pollute ourselves. No recycling fee shall be paid to them at all. If you do not want to pay this unfair and ridiculous charge and want to have a better choice for BC, please read the attached letter and join us by forwarding this letter to whoever concerned. It could save you, your son, your daughter and your family big amount of money as well save our environment.
